2019 2nd NightShoot

Published Mon 19 Aug 2019

Club members have enjoyed an evening of archery under the stars during the second NightShoot of the year.

The evening was cold and clear, attracting a healthy crowd of 27 starters for the club range shoot on July 20, 2019.

Archers arrayed themselves across ten lanes including two recurve target lane.

Points were awarded for hitting three spot targets across the first five rounds. These were followed with another five rounds against heart lung shaped targets.

Third-umpire Paul C tallied the scores across all rounds, while Merv gave the pre-shoot briefing and coveted awards ceremony.

The presentations saw many archers richly rewarded for their results.

Keith won the Open Mens division, his camel back water bladder prize was largely overshadowed by re-joining the 13 Club (three perfect shots in one round).

The achievement was shortly followed by dry-firing and derailment of his compound bow late in the comp.

Daniel and Lee placed in second and third respectively - collecting a sauce condiment gun and VHS Set of John Wayne.

Sam won the Open Womens division claiming first line honours of a prawn pot trophy, runnersup Bethany and Lesley received winter gloves and an onion peeler.

Bethany collected the Youth division, while Alex found his mark in the 3D Challenge nailing a lion target cloaked in darkness.

Last place was awarded to Jake, the Recurve division and lucky door prize won by Rob D.

Archers enjoyed the company of a warm fire into the night and the promise of more NightShoot competitions into the future.
