Pedal To The Metal For Shed Build

Published Wed 06 Nov 2019

Hastings Valley Archery Club members have put in the hardyards by completing a full day of construction during the September 22 working bee.

Club members toiled under a baking sun from 7.30am until into the afternoon to erect half of the new tin-sided shed at the practice range.

The progress was quick with members ferrying galvanised metal sheeting to the metal frame before it was tech-screwed onto the roof by committee Jamie Cliffe and Peter Jilg.

By the end of the day the old-faithful generator had expired frequently, Cliffe's face resembled a sun-rippened tomato and refreshments were flowing.

Members must now drill support columns for the other side of the shed and replace the existing practice range shelter in the next working bee on Sunday, November 17.

What a great day under the sun, thank you to all members who attended and made it possible.
